Watch out for blocked pipes
2007-12-03

If your toilets, pipes or drains become blocked, you can call the SHDM, and we will see to it that the necessary repairs are carried out.
However these problems are not always due to hardware defects. If it turns out that a pipe has become blocked through misuse or your own negligence, you will be held responsible and will have to pay the costs of repair.
Pay attention to what you’re doing! Try to make sure you don’t let brushes or other objects slip into the drain, and do not attempt to dispose of waste in the toilet – it is not a garbage can.
You should also be aware that you are prohibited from attempting to unblock drains using chemical products, as they can damage the plumbing.
With regard to this subject, refer to paragraph 10 of the building regulations in the Additional Clauses and SHDM Building Rules
section of your lease.
