The SHDM is pleased to announce the new municipal property disposition policy announced today by the City of Montreal. It will offer greater predictability and transparency regarding the development opportunities proposed by the City for the construction of non-market housing. The interactive map of available municipal projects, as well as the clarification of the acquisition request process, will help identify relevant land or buildings for the various projects of organizations.
"This announcement is great news for the housing sector! This disposition policy and the interactive map will provide the necessary information on municipal properties for the realization of non-market housing projects," says Sophie Rousseau-Loiselle, Managing Director of the SHDM. "It is through the complementary actions of our partners that we will all be able to address the challenges of social and affordable housing in our region. As a key partner and real estate arm of the City of Montreal, the SHDM will continue to play an important role in the goal of increasing the number of non-market housing units in Montreal by 20% by 2050."
