Commercial real estate for institutional and cultural use

Over time, the SHDM has acquired, renovated, or constructed a number of commercial buildings offering space or offices. The tenants are mainly institutional and cultural organizations, including the City of Montreal to house its employees, the National Film Board (NFB), digital creation schools, artists, and cultural associations. The day-to-day management of these buildings is handled by external property managers appointed by the SHDM.

The SHDM also owns a few commercial spaces located on the ground floor of certain commercial and residential buildings.

Available commercial spaces

Some commercial properties may have available units for offices, artist studios, non-profit organizations, and more. When available, details are listed under the corresponding property section.

Additionally, several SHDM residential buildings include ground floor spaces ideal for shops or services open to the public. Many of these locations benefit from a built-in clientele, residents or employees occupying the upper floors.
