Investments to maintain and modernize Autonomie+ buildings

SHDM teams have just completed major work in three of its Autonomie+ buildings, intended for people aged 55 and over, including:
- Repairing the concrete access routes at Desormeaux, in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve;
- Replacing caulking and carrying out masonry work at the Jean‑Brillant Building, in the Sud‑Ouest borough;
- Modernizing the elevator at Lambert‑Closse, also located in the Sud‑Ouest borough.
Representing an investment of more than $900,000 and benefiting approximately 237 tenants, these renovation projects are part of the SHDM’s residential asset maintenance program.
It should be noted that the SHDM owns 17 Autonomie+ buildings. The organization manages more than 1,240 affordable housing units, allowing tenants to live independently in environments designed for their needs. Autonomie+ buildings are equipped with elevators and access ramps that support universal accessibility and facilitate mobility for people with reduced mobility. Most also include a community room, a garden, or a terrace.
