Each year, the SHDM offers residents of several of its Autonomie+ buildings (reserved for autonomous customers aged 55 and over) the chance to garden during the summer season. Planting trays and soil are made available for growing flowers, fruit or vegetables. This year, in collaboration with the YAM organization, gardening workshops were organized to launch the season. 25 residents had the opportunity to benefit from urban agriculture advice from this social economy organization, whose mission is to deploy high-impact environmental projects in the community.
In all, more than 75 gardens will be cultivated this summer in 10 Autonomie+ buildings.
These types of projects help to strengthen neighborly ties and increase involvement in the environment, while improving living conditions and providing access to fresh produce.
