In 2015, the SHDM undertook major renovations at the Centre Jean-Marie–Gauvreau, located at 911 Jean-Talon Street East, to accommodate the new Claude-Léveillée cultural center for the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension, including a performance hall and exhibition spaces. Redesigned and developed by FABG Architects, this cultural center in on the ground floor of the building. This building has a leasable area of 6,771 m² (72,882 ft²) and is a true cultural hub, also hosting artists and cultural associations. These artists can take advantage of a cultural hub within their own creative spaces.

Tenants

The City of Montréal is the tenant of the Maison de la culture.

More than 40 additional tenants, primarily in the arts sector, rent spaces on the upper floors.
