Retour à la liste des immeubles commerciaux

Built between 1847 and 1903, the Monastère du Bon-Pasteur is located at 100 Sherbrooke Street East and underwent major renovations in the 1980s to be converted into a multi-purpose complex. The project led to the creation of a housing cooperative, a residence for seniors, a residential complex, a cultural center, a daycare, and office spaces. The City of Montréal owns the entire complex but transferred the Chapel, the Maison de la culture, and the office spaces to the SHDM under an emphyteutic lease.

On May 25, 2023, a fire ravaged the building. The SHDM then coordinated emergency stabilization and safety work to protect and preserve everything that could be saved. The building is now secured to prevent further deterioration: it is weatherproof (with a temporary roof), heated, ventilated, secured, sprinkler-equipped, and monitored.
