At the side of the elderly people
Today is the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. The SHDM underlines the importance of taking care of the most vulnerable, to act against isolation and abuse.
That’s why the SHDM is collaborating with the SPVM and various community organizations to the »Visiter une personne aînée isolée » in its Autonomie+ buildings, for an autonomous clientele aged 55 and over. Throughout the month of June, outreach workers and SPVM socio-community agents will go door-to-door in 9 buildings, to raise awareness among tenants about the fight against abuse, fraud and theft. They will refer tenants who need it to the appropriate resources for personalized follow-up.
Together, let’s act for the good treatment of the elderly people!
