Information – Heating Systems in Fielding and Walkley Buildings
Update as of February 9th:
The situation is now stable in all eight buildings, and the relocated tenants have returned to their respective units.
Following the widespread power outage on Sunday, January 25, in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough—caused by equipment failure at a Hydro-Québec facility and affecting a large number of buildings in the area—the heating systems in some of our buildings were shut down, resulting in burst pipes, leaks, and difficulties restoring heat.
Despite the continuous presence of the SHDM teams and contracted workers assigned to resolve the situation, issues persist. Some buildings also had to be evacuated to facilitate the necessary interventions.
